Garmin recently released the successor of the Lily, the Garmin Lily 2. These watches resemble a wristwatch style and are suitable for women.
They added various new features to the Lily 2, compared to its predecessors. So we decided to take a ride with both of these smartwatches to find out which one reigns supreme.
What’s new:
- The Garmin Lily 2 now has Garmin Pay for contactless payments.
- The Garmin Lily 2 is made of aluminum (previously, stainless steel).
- Added new nylon strap option in addition to a leather and silicone strap.
- Added sleep score to provide insights into your sleeping schedule, pattern, naunces, and more.
- Added three new sports profiles, including HIIT, indoor rowing, and dance fitness.
- Added incident detection for selected activities, including walking, running, and biking.
These are all the added features you are getting on the new Garmin Lily 2. Other than that, it is identical to its predecessors in terms of display, features, and pricing as well, except the NFC support costs $30 more.
Garmin Lily 2 Classic vs. Lily Classic: Price
The Garmin Lily 2 comes with a price tag of $249 (Lily 2 Classic) without NFC support but costs $30 more, or $279 (Lily 2) for NFC. It comes in six colours, with metallic lilac and cream gold for the classic edition and cream gold, silver, and dark bronze for the standard edition. You get nylon ($249), leather ($299), and silicone ($279) strap options.
The Garmin Lily, on the other hand, retails for $249 for the Classic and $199 for the Sports edition. It comes in three colours: Cream Gold Bezel with Braloba Grey Case, Light Gold Bezel with White Case for Classic Edition, and Cream Gold Bezel with Dust Rose Case for Sports Edition. It only has leather and silicone straps available.
Is there any difference?
Both smartwatches resemble the wristwatch style and are made specially for women who want a slimmer and more sophisticated watch.
The Garmin Lily 2 boasts a 1.00-inch, 318 PPI, 240 x 201-pixel liquid crystal display surrounded by anodized aluminium for its bezel and casing. The lens is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. Garmin added a nylon strap; previously, there were only leather and silicone straps available.
Measuring at 35.4 x 35.4 x 10.1 mm and weighing 21.4 grams, the Garmin Lily 2 comes in Cream Gold, Silver, and Dark Bronze colorways.
The Garmi Lily Classic, meanwhile, boasts a 1.00-inch, 312 PPI, 240 x 201-pixel liquid crystal display surrounded by a stainless steel bezel and fibre-reinforced polymer casing. It also uses the same Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on the lens. It only has leather and silicone straps.
At 34.50 x 34.50 x 10.15 mm and weighing 24 grams, the Lily Classic comes with a Cream Gold Bezel with Braloba Grey Case and a Light Gold Bezel with White Case.
Other than that, both smartwatches offer touch-screen support. They have a rating of 5 ATM for water resistance, making them suitable for swimming. In terms of battery life, both devices can last for around 5 days on a single charge and come with a Garmin proprietary clip charger, which takes approximately 2 hours to fully charge the device.

Health, features, and fitness activities
When it comes to health and fitness tracking, both watches offer basic activity tracking, which you will use every day.
Both the Garmin Lily 2 and Lily Classic feature a heart rate sensor, abnormal heart rate alerts, 24 x 7 respiration rate, pulse OX blood oxygen saturation, body battery, stress tracking, breathwork, sleep tracking, hydration, and a women’s health tracker.
On top of that, they also feature a step counter, calories burned, distance travelled, move alerts, auto-goals (learn from your activity and assign daily goals), true up, and move IQ. Additionally, they offer VO2 Max as well.
In terms of activity tracking, both devices can track 10 activities, including running, walking, yoga, pilates, swimming, strength, cardio, elliptical training, stair stepping, and biking. But the Garmin Lily 2 can track three additional activities, including HIIT, indoor rowing, and dance fitness.
What else can they do?
Apart from health and fitness activities, these watches offer smart notifications, GPS, a morning report (showing multiple metrics when you wake), a calendar, weather forecasts, and the ability to find your phone and watch.
In terms of compatibility, both devices can connect to a wide range of Android and iOS devices. Plus, it doesn’t have Wi-Fi or ANT+ connectivity but offers Bluetooth to sync your data across devices and GPS tracking.
Garmin added incident detection to the Lily 2, which detects incidents and then sends your name and location to your added emergency contacts. However, you must turn on this feature via the Garmin Connect app and set up your emergency contacts.
Additionally, both devices have live tracking that creates a real-time feed of your location and assistance that sends your name and location to your emergency contacts.
Which should you choose?
Both devices are almost identical in style, size, battery life, smartwatch features, health features, and pricing, but Garmin added a few additional features to the Lily 2. If you want to use Garmin Pay, Sleep Score, a nylon band, and a few additional colours, then the Garmin Lily 2 might be a good choice for you.
There’s no reason to go for the Garmin Lily Classic; the price is the same, and it has fewer features and colour options, so the Lily 2 will be the way to go.
There are also far better options on the market that offer even better features than these Garmin watches, like the Amazfit GTR 4, Garmin Venu 2, Samsung Galaxy Watch 6, or Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 5.
