Both have an aluminium alloy build, but the GTR 4 has three strap options to choose from — Fluoroelastomer, Leather, and Nylon compared to only Leather and Fluoroelastomer on the GTR 3 Pro. The straps are 22 mm in length.

The GTR 4 measures 46 x 46 x 10.6 mm and weighs 34 grams with straps, meaning users can wear the watch for an extended period without feeling it on their wrist. In contrast, the GTR 3 Pro measures 46 x 46 x 10.7 mm and weighs 32 grams without straps.

The Amazfit GTR 3 Pro, on the other hand, features a 1.45”, 331 PPI, 480 x 480 pixels AMOLED display covered in tempered glass and an anti-fingerprint coating.

Both have a water rating of 5 ATM, meaning users can wear this watch while swimming and showering.

Health and Activity Tracking

Health Tracking

Both come with a BioTracker PPG sensor, but the GTR 4 features the latest 4.0 biometric optical sensor, which collects 33% more data than the previous generation. It also reduces the signal interference caused by arm movements to track accurate heart rate readings.

These devices can also monitor 24-hour heart rate, SpO2 (blood oxygen), stress levels, and breathing rate. Plus, users can also measure these four health metrics with a single tap. Both tracks track sleep in multiple stages (including deep, light, and REM) and daytime naps, providing a deeper view into overall sleep. They also offer personalised suggestions to improve sleep habits.

On top of that, these smartwatches also measure stress levels, and users can also get alerts during high stress levels or perform manual stress level tests. The watches offer breathing exercises to relieve stress and help users feel better. They are also capable of tracking menstrual cycles.

They also feature a PAI health assessment system, which uses heart rate responses to track physical activities. It also converts heart rate activity into scores ranging from 0 to 100.

The Amazfit GTR 4 added a new morning update function that includes multiple pieces of information, including weather, health metrics, calendar events, and more. Users can customise the data to include what they want to see right after waking up.

Additional features include tracking of 25 strength exercises and 8 sports exercises, including outdoor running, indoor walking, walking, treadmill, outdoor cycling, rowing machines, elliptical, and pool swimming.

For athletes, these smartwatches feature peak beats, which assess specialised data such as maximum oxygen intake (VO2 max), recovery time, training load, and training effect, providing detailed metrics into overall training and recovery metrics.

Both have accurate GPS tracking capabilities, but the Amazfit GTR 4 uses six satellite positioning systems, including a dual-band circularly- polarised GPS antenna, providing stronger positioning and accurate readings in challenging situations with trees and buildings.

The GTR 4 also offers users the ability to import route files, follow their own unique path, and track real-time movement directly on the watch screen. The watch also shows the shortest distance to come back to the starting point when in a hurry.

Some basic features, such as running distance, pace, and duration, track the lane you are running in and automatically correct your trajectory and distance to match your selected lane. They also feature a virtual pacer, which is a feature that lets you run against yourself by comparing your previous running data to your current performance.

Smartwatch Features

Both devices feature a powerful Zepp OS that offers smooth interactions and a UI that’s designed to consume less power. Both smartwatches have the ability to receive calls directly on the watch via Bluetooth connection, while in the Amazfit GTR 4 you can also answer calls directly from your wrist.

To personalise the smartwatch experience, users can choose from over 200 watch faces, including 200 animated and 4 interactive, and upload their own photos to the watch faces. For more customisation, you can change the app menu layout, screen colour, or styles.

Both have built-in voice assistants (Alexa), which users can access while online or offline to perform various operations like engaging in sports mode, opening health metrics, and more.

Users also get built-in apps, including GoPro, SOS, baby records, BMI, water reminders, and more. Plus, built-in apps like Schulte Grid and Dodge Mine. You can also sync devices via the Zepp App to download apps or get an overview of your data on the phone screen.

The GTR 4 also lets users store membership and club card codes to ease the load of carrying cards for shopping.

Additionally, some basic features such as phone calls, SMS, and app notifications, event reminders, do not disturb, alarm clocks, stopwatches, calendars, weather, sedentary reminders, and more are present on both of these smartwatches.

Battery Life

In contrast, the GTR 3 Pro features a 450 mAh battery capacity that offers 12 days of battery life under typical usage.

Under heavy usage, meaning GPS tracking, always-on display, and advanced health tracking, the Amazfit GTR 4 can last for up to 7 days, while the Amazfit GTR 3 Pro can last for up to 6 days.

However, in GPS tracking mode, the GTR 3 Pro takes the lead with 35 hours of battery, while the GTR 4 only lasted for 25 hours. But the GTR 4 also has two additional GPS modes: balanced GPS mode, in which the watch can last for up to 44 hours, and power-saving GPS mode, in which it can last for up to 50 hours.

Both devices take the same 2 hours to fully charge, from 0 to 100%.
